Quinoa porridge
Quinoa is gluten-free, high in protein and one of the few plant foods that contain sufficient amounts of all nine essential amino acids.. It is also high in fiber, magnesium, B vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E and various beneficial antioxidants.
Ingredients:
- Quinoa: half cup ( measure with tea cup)
- Moong dal: 3/4 cup( use same cup used above)
- Onion: 1 small sliced
- Salt: as per taste
- Turmeric powder:1/4 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder:1/2 teaspoon
- Green chillies:1
- Corriander leaves:a handful
- Carrot grated:1
- Ghee:1 tablespoons
- Ginger garlic paste:1/2 teaspoon
Method:
- Soak quinoa and moong dal in water for half an hour.
- Drain the water .
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker
- When the ghee is hot add sliced onion and saute till golden brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
- Add soaked quinoa and moong dal and saute well.
- Add salt, Red chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes with continuous stirring.
- Add 3 glasses of water and close the lid.
- Pressure cook for 5-6 vessels until it is cooked well.
- Let it cool completely and open the pressure cooker.
- Garnish with coriander leaves, green chillies and grated carrot.
- Healthy and gluten free porridge is ready.
- Serve hot.
