Ingredients:
- oil: 1 tbsp
- onion: 1 chopped
- ginger garlic paste: 1 tsp
- turmeric powder:1/4 tsp
- red chilli powder: 1 tsp
- salt : 1/2 tsp
- bengal gram or chana dal: 25 gms
- water: 1 1/4 cup
- ridge gourd : 250 gms
- corriander leaves: handful
- green chillies: 4-5
Method:
- In a sauce pan add oil
- When the oil is hot add 1 onion chopped.Stir till it turns brown then add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder
- stir 30 sec and add chana dal
- Saute well and add 1/2 tea cup of water. Close the lid
- Open the lid after 5 mins
- Add salt,red chilli powderand ridge gourd cut into small pieces
- Saute for 30 sec and add 1/2 teacup of water
- close lid and cook on medium flame for 3-4 mins
- Add 1/4 teacup of water few chooped corriander leaves and green chillies
- Cook on low flame till the water dries
- Switch off the flame and serve
